Getting Krafty and Recycling!

Hiya!
I hope you're able to come play at Twisted Tuesdays this week.
You have 2 more days to enter!
We're getting Krafty (use kraft paper) and Recycling (use recycled item on your creation.

Although I wasn't able to make a new creation for this challenge (hubby is still home from having surgery and I just haven't been able to hide in my craft room!), I am posting this card that I made a few months ago. I don't think I've shown it on my blog yet. If I have forgive me. I'm all over the place this week!!! LOL

Now you may be wondering "Where's the recycled items?". Well, the cream circles were sitting on my desk from a project I never used them on. Instead of throwing them away at the time, I left them on my desk (I don't throw anything away! LOL). This was one of my first attempts at accordion folded rosettes. Whatcha think? :)

Be sure and check out the Design Team's creations at the Twisted Tuesday blog!

Until next time...
Blessings...

Dueling with a Manly Card!

Hello!
It's time to duel again. The Dueling Darlings are making Manly cards this month. April, the hostess for the Dazzlers, sent a great kit. I love the accessories in it! Here's what I created:

The patterned paper was right up my alley. I love newsprint paper. It's hard to find though....maybe I'm not looking in the right places. I love the burlap piece she sent. I cut mine into 3 pieces and layered them over the tan ribbon. My card base is some kraft c/s I got from Hobby Lobby yesterday (at 40% off :). I also used a piece of it behind the image. I crumpled it and then inked it. I used the trophy image (she sent 3 different images). I added liquid pearls to it and some twine to the edge. I LOVE the pearls she sent and since they were a cocoa color....they're just as manly as the rest of the card in my opinion! :)

She also sent some great fish paper....since I'm giving this card to my Dad, and he's not a fisherman, I decided to hoard that and use it on another project down the road! I added some tan, aged paper to the inside and a little strip of the newsprint paper at the bottom. I think Dad's gonna like it. He's a character, always kidding and telling jokes so I can just hear him now when I give him this card...."Well, this card looks well aged, just like me!" :)

Thanks April for hosting a great challenge!

Hi!

I wanted to share with you the card I made for Barb's Red, White and Blue card swap over on SCS. I love how this card turned out. This is my first time using a Whipper Snapper image. I love this thing! I have a wish list now with WS. :)

The panel the image is stamped on is cut with my Cricut using the George Basic shapes cart. The blue polka dot circle is cut with a Spellbinders die and the Big Shot, the sentiment is punched out with the SU! modern label punch and the small star circle accent is made using 3 layers of white card stock, 1 layer of SU! dsp all punched with a circle punch and then stamped, then I added glossy accents (SU! brand)(you can't tell it glossy in the pic)
I stamped the balloons then added frosted stickles to give them a well, I wanted to get the look of those balloons with goodies inside them? The stamped stars kind of smeared though :( I added silver stickles to the Koala's party hat.
This card also goes along with today's free for all challenge on SCS ~ hands free cutting.

I know Barb likes Whipper Snapper so I hope she likes my cards! :)

Until next time...

Where Have I Been? UGH!!!

HI ALL!!!
I'm so sorry to have been away so long. It's been a wild and crazy couple of weeks around here....with some sorrowful moments. I haven't had a minute of crafty time since around the 20th of May. I was in withdrawals then I couldn't find my mojo....it was gone for quite a while. I'm sorry to the challenge hostesses that I am tardy with. I am trying to make up for it all in one post...forgive me.

*The Crafters of Faith blog group challenge (should have been up the last day of May) was to create a card with the inspiration of "a basket full of flowers".
*The Twisted Tuesday Challenge this week is to use a touch of purple in your creation and the Twist is add baker's twine.
*The Crafty Gals blog group challenge today is to make a Summery/Vacation themed creation with patterned paper and 2 embellishments.

Here's what I created to encircle all three:
For the Crafters of Faith challenge I made a "pot" and filled it with flowers made with the Itty Bitty Punch pack punches from SU! I free hand cut my leaves. Then added some pearls to the purple flowers.
For the Twisted Tuesday challenge....just a few purple flowers with the same paper mat behind and some lucky limeade twine at the top.
For the Crafty Gals challenge....yes, this is Summery with the vibrant flowers but it is also Vacation-like to me. Why you say? I remember a trip we took to the Biltmore Home a few years ago. That place is so beautiful...the home itself is enormous and so detailed but being the garden lover that I am...the grounds were my favorite part. I remember large flower gardens with some of the most vibrant blooms you've ever seen. When I got my little pot together, it reminded me of those that I saw at Biltmore.
My purple flower and matted background are patterned paper and I used pearls and twine as my two embellishments.

I hope you like my first creation since my "hiatus"! :)
As you read this post and visit my blog today, I am in my crafty room getting inky. I'm on a roll! Thank you so much for stopping by!
Be sure and visit the sweeties in my blog groups. The Crafty Gals are listed in my right sidebar. The Crafters of Faith ladies are in my left sidebar. The link to Twisted Tuesdays is in my left sidebar at the top. We hope to see you there!!! :)
