It's a Pool Party!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

It's our annual Memorial Day Bash today! We're grilling out with family and friends and it is the official opening day of the pool!!! School's out and we're having a blast :)

Whatcha doin' today?

I've got an invitation for ya...want to come make a splash? :)

My base is Natural white c/s from SU! then I used a misc. piece of glittery blue c/s and cut it with my wavy cutter. The panel is also a piece of Natural white c/s. I used the ticket punch on the corners and popped it up off the base. I used a set of stamps from Paper Studio called Summer Fun and colored them with watercolor pencils and a blender pen. I used my circle punches and popped up the image circle with a dimensional. I had some mini tags in my stash and thought they would go well with this card. I hand wrote my sentiment and then tied them on.

Well, back to making potato salad and wiping the kids down with sunscreen. Just as long as I don't confuse it with the mayo....Ewwwww! Sorry hahahaha :)

Have a wonderful and safe holiday!

Until next time...

Thank You Teachers!

Okay so you've all heard me talking about the end of the school year, I've been ready for it, it's finally here, "SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER"!!!!!!!!! Yay!

Now, I can't forget the teacher's that changed my kids' lives this year. They both learned so much this year. I am very grateful to their wonderful teacher's and class aides who helped them.
Here's one of the cards I made for them.

I embossed the white c/s base with the small dots texture plate then chalked it with old olive and pumpkin pie. I used my scallop circle die and large circle die with my Big Shot machine. The sentiment is from Enjoy Every Moment stamp set. Of course, you all know that image is RILEY! Ain't her the cutest thing?!! I colored him with watercolor pencils and a blender pen. I cut him out and his stack of books. I used crystal effects on the books, apple and pencil. Then just to top it off I added some matching rick rack ribbon. It was a piece of ribbon just laying in my drawer that matched the patterned paper. Don't you love when that happens?

This card goes along with the challenge at Paper Cutz this week: Make a card for a Teacher
Also Just Us Girls challenge: Use Dry Embossing

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Until next time...

Shabby Chic meets Medallion

Happy Thursday!
Tonight is our kiddos last softball game :( They have had so much fun. The coordinator of this league will never know how much this has meant to our son to have a game he could play and not get looks and stares when he is being himself. This special needs league was something so special to our family. I loved going and seeing the children with mental and physical disabilities play a sport that's usually only for the organized, "get out there and beat 'em" mind set. For once our son's Autism didn't stand in his way of doing something he loves and for that I am most grateful.
Angie, you are most appreciated. Thank you so much...

-------------------------------------------------------

Now, on to my crafty segment of this post:

I stamped the SU! medallion stamp in old olive ink and stamped off the card lightly then off set stamped it on the very vanilla card base. I used a piece of patterned paper from my scrap stash, tore the edges and off set it also. The lace ribbon is from my goodies I got at Hobby Lobby last weekend, half price I might add! :) The sentiment is from SU! Three Little Words stamp set stamped in old olive ink on very vanilla c/s punched out with the lg. oval punch. 3 misc. buttons finish it off.

This card was made using this week's challenge at: Paper Cutz - buttons and ribbon, lace or twine and also last week's CAS challenge at SCS to make a Shabby Chic card.

Thanks for hopping over to my blog today!

Until next time...

Twirly Flowers

Middle of the week...what have you been up to?
We're winding down the school year. This is me and the kiddos last week (we're overly excited as I've mentioned in most every post for the last month!).
We have some swimming on the agenda for this holiday weekend. What's in your plans?

Anyway, I promised you some cards after 8 days of scrapbook pages, so here you go:

I tried my hand at rolled flowers. I cut strips of textured bashful blue c/s and then tore one edge of each strip. Roll them up, smash them a little then fan them out. Glue the edges and then adhere to your card with edges facing in. I used zip dry adhesive to place them on the card. I used my new Martha Stewart 3 hole border punch on some perfect plum c/s. I LOVE that punch! I added a little strip of misc. polka dot dp on top of that then cut some old olive satin ribbon for the leaves of the flower. My sentiment is from SU! Three Little Words stamp set.

I made this card using this week's challenge at: Clean and Simple Stamping - FTL 91! sketch

Crop the Weekend Away! Part 8 (the final chapter!)

Are you having a good week so far? I pray you are! Thanks so much for stopping by today. I appreciate you!
Well, we come to our final installment of "Crop The Weekend Away" posts. I truly hope you have enjoyed looking at my creations. I really enjoyed making them :)

This was the last 2 pages I did at the crop. I kept it simple using black b/g c/s. I used the Cricut with the Jasmine cartridge for the title and Life is a Beach cartridge for the fish and seaweed. 3 pics of our DD on the left and 3 pics of our DS on the right and 1 of both of them in the middle split between the 2 pages. I love how these turned out and so happy I got 16 pages done at the crop.
Okay, the next post I bring to you, I promise, will not be a scrapbook page!!!! Hahahahaha!
Love you all! :o)

Until next time...

Crop the Weekend Away! Part 7

It's the last week of school! It's the last week of school! It's the last week of.....
OH! So sorry....you caught me in my happy dance. Okay I'm calm now, ready to show you some craftiness I accomplished. (But, it is the last week of school, I can sleep in next week! Woot! Woot!, Oh Yeah, Oh Yeah!) But, I'm totally NOT excited about school being out...*clearing throat and hoping lightning doesn't strike right now!!!!!!* ***BIG CHEESY GRIN!***

Now, here we go:

This page (yes you're still seeing Savannah vacation pages) (last one will be posted tomorrow) I became totally stumped as to how I wanted it to look. I knew I wanted to use my wavy cutter but how I didn't know. I punched some beach balls out of dp and then punched some sand dp. I used cut outs from a DCWV accents page for the title. I've seen journaling done like this where the scrapper would write and then fit in some titles/big words in between. I like how my journaling came out. The strips of words at the top came from the same DCWV accents page.

Okay so come back tomorrow and I promise that will be the last day of "Crop the Weekend Away" installments! :)

Until next time...

Crop the Weekend Away! Part 6

Hello!
Happy Sunday :)

I love the title on this page! I borrowed the Alphalicious cartridge from a girl at the crop to make it. I stamped kraft c/s with the Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp set (the scattered splatter stamp) in choc. chip ink. Then I cut out the letters on the Cricut. I then inked the edges with bashful blue ink with a sponge dauber. I cut out a tiny palm tree from some dp I had and snuck it onto the page too. :)

Thanks for visiting!

Until next time...

Crop the Weekend Away! Part 5

Happy Saturday! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend so far :)

You ready for another double page layout? Are you getting tired of seeing scrapbook pages? I just got so many done that I wanted to show my progress. I hope you're enjoying them.

Have you been to Tybee Island in Savannah, GA? It is beautiful!!!! A Must See for sure!
The lighthouse is great, the rock formations on the beach are breath taking, the peer is wonderful.
I used the Cricut with Life is a Beach cartridge for the shells. I love that cartridge. I used some sand dp in my stash. The title is from a DCWV accents page. The "R" tag says remember. The waves are cut from dp.

Have a wonderful day!

Until next time...

Crop the Weekend Away! Part 4

YAY! End of the work week! Don't it feel wonderful?!!!!
Our plans this weekend include helping my mom and dad with pool readiness (we always have a BIG gathering for Memorial Day) and I will be getting teacher gifts and cards done. I'm thinking of a handmade card, baked goodies and a plant of some sort. I love getting gifts together and all packaged up! :) It makes me smile to give

Well, now on to the crafty portion of my post today. Here's another double page layout I made last weekend:

The paper is from CM. I put a little bling on the inside of each flower. These pics are from our open bus tour in Savannah, GA. There's also pics from the boat harbor. That was beautiful.

Thanks for visiting today!

Until next time...

Crop the Weekend Away! Part 3

Hello friends!
I pray you're having a wonderfully productive day! I love feeling productive. I go to bed at night knowing I've accomplished something and I don't know about you but I sleep better knowing my day wasn't wasted.
Okay, now I know housework is very productive but that's not to what I am referring! Of course, I'm talking about crafting!!!! Hahahahahahaha
Here's another page I completed during my very, very productive weekend of scrapping:

Isn't he the cutest little Pirate you ever did see? Using the Cricut, I cut the hook out with the Paper Dolls cartridge and the title with the Jasmine Cartridge. I highlighted both with a white gel pen to give them some dimension. I cut the circle with the Cricut also, using the George basic shapes cartridge then off set it and cut off the excess. I layered on some wide black ribbon and then white rick rack. I added a little bling but tried not to make the page girlie for my tough guy Pirate! :)

Crop the Weekend Away! Part 2

Hiya!

Here's another page from my weekend crop:

This is the Pirate's House Restaurant. It was a wonderful experience. The kids loved it. A pirate walked around inside and talked to you and sang. The restaurant was set up like a house with rooms and there was even a "pit" they had netted off you could look down in. It was a very unique restaurant.
For this page I used the Cricut with the George basic shapes cartridge for the big circle and then from the same dp punched smaller circles for the edge.

Thanks for visiting with me today!
Until next time...

Crop the Weekend Away! Part 1

Hi everybody! How are ya? I hope you're wonderful!
I'm busy as ever....end of the school year you know (only 8 more days, not that I'm counting!)
I had a weekend crop...a very successful weekend crop...I got 16 pages done!! WooooWhoooo
That is a lot for me because I tend to sit and stare at the pictures...I don't know I guess I think their going to scrap themselves...but I put them on my background c/s and just stare at them for a few minutes. I truly hope this is helping me to scrap them the way they should be...?...I don't know.
Anywho, for the next couple of days I will be posting pages I completed at this crop.
I hope you enjoy!!!!

These are pics from our trip to Savannah, GA. I HAD to go to Paula Deen's Restaurant! There were 8 of us eating that night and that is the picture of our recipe! Your eyes are right....that's $203!!!!!
My b/g c/s is real red then I inked up my Medallion stamp with choc. chip ink and stamped onto the c/s. I used some scrap dp for accents along with some buttons. I inked the kraft piece of cardstock with choc. chip ink also.

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time...

Punchy Accents

Hello!
I hope you're having a great, crafty day!

I just wanted to share a new little passion of mine...making page accents!
I love these little beauties and they are so easy to do. Now don't get me wrong I still love making tags and journaling blocks, and border pieces but these little gems are just too easy...

You use the SU! scallop circle punch then a smaller circle punch then the large butterfly from the SU! Beautiful Wings embosslits. Finish it off with 3 small pearls. After you adhere the butterfly and pearls, lift up a little on the wings to give some dimension. These are great to add to scrapbook pages like I've done here or as a great focal point on a card.
I know this is so simple but they are just precious to me. I'm glad I got a little punchy one day and found that these 3 shapes looked so cute together!

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Congratulations Graduate! (CAS66)

Hello friends!
I'm so glad you stopped by :)

Today I have 2 cards that I made using the CAS66 Challenge over on SCS. I needed to make graduation cards for 2 lovely girls I know that will be sliding the tassel this month.
I love tempting turquoise but don't get to use it as often as I'd like. I hope the girls like that color!

I used 2 flower stamps from a Martha Stewart set I got over the weekend....stamped them on white c/s with tempting turquoise ink then cut them out. I sponged old olive ink around the first card's flowers and pixie pink around the second. The patterned paper on the first card is from the sweet pea paper stack and the paper on the second is some retired sweet always dp. I used the well scripted stamp set on the first and fundamental phrases on the second.
Now, I know the leaves are not perfect but I did free hand them. I used my paper piercing tool. I thought it added a cute touch. I also used my paper piercing tool and mat pack to get the holes along the bottom.

Thanks again for visiting...
Until next time...

CCC #26

Hey ladies....
Sorry to be MIA for a week. I hope you all had a great weekend.
Only 19 days left of school! yay! I can't wait to sleep in on June 1st! :D Isn't that pitiful? I'm counting down the days until I can sleep past 6:25am on a week day...hee! hee!

I finally got an hour set aside to do a little crafting. It seems like it's been forever since I got to sit at my crafting desk. I had to start by finishing my scrapbook pages for the Crafty Critter blog group challenge (#26) hosted by Moira...Hiya girl!

Here's the deets:

I want to see a double page layout (for those of you who are card makers - make two cards)..

Please use the following sketches...
Page 1
Page 2

I don't want to limit you to anything else.... so no other requirements...

So, here's what I came up with:

I'm a chronological scrapper. Now, I do stray from that some....but very rarely. I have pics from a beach trip we took in 2007 that are still not scrapped but it's just because I haven't found the right album to put them in. That's another thing. I don't scrap pics until I have the album I'm going to put them in. I'm so afraid I will scrap some and then not have an album and sit the pages somewhere...then forget about them.
I'm working on my 2008 album and these are some pages from our Savannah, Georgia trip. I absolutely loved that town! It was gorgeous and the restaurants were delicious too. If you ever go, take a guided bus tour! It was the best part of our entire trip. We would have never navigated around the city and seen everything if we didn't take that tour.
My b/g card stock is dusty durango. I used some scrap paper from my stash for the scalloped squares (using scallop square punch). Another piece of scrap for the panel on the 2nd page, some linen thread and vintage brads to finish the pages. Oh, the old olive letters are cut with my Big shot and the other title and journaling is computer generated.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Until next time...
Blessings...
